Overview:
LASH Foundation is a nonprofit organization committed to transforming lives by addressing the root causes of homelessness and displacement. Founded on the belief that everyone deserves a second chance, LASH (Lending A Supporting Hand) exists to empower, equip, and elevate individuals and families—particularly women, veterans, reentry citizens, and youth—who are facing the hardest moments of their lives.

With operations based in Baltimore, MD and Las Vegas, NV, the Foundation takes a holistic and community-based approach, offering programs that provide not just temporary relief, but long-term stability and purpose.

To serve as a lifeline for the underserved—providing shelter, skills, stability, and support to those experiencing homelessness, crisis, or system failure, helping them reclaim independence and build a dignified future.

To end generational homelessness by creating empowered individuals and thriving communities through healing, training, housing, and opportunity.

Core Programs & Goals:

🔹 Transitional Housing & Emergency Shelter

• Secure safe and clean transitional housing for women, families, and reentry citizens.

• Partner with city governments and private property owners to offer temporary shelter while clients stabilize.

• Integrate mental health and trauma support into housing programs.

🔹 Workforce Development & Vocational Training

• Offer job readiness programs that include résumé building, interview training, and placement services.

• Create an Etiquette Mentoring Program for young women, covering all life stages and ending in a formal gala graduation.

• Introduce training centers that double as operational cafes or catering kitchens, providing both food and job opportunities.

🔹 Food Access & Emergency Meal Programs

• Partner with organizations like Taste of Home MSP Inc. to provide hot meals daily.

• Launch mobile food units for on-the-go meal delivery in underserved areas.

• Offer three meals a day for transitional shelter residents and those in crisis.

🔹 Mental Health & Life Coaching Services

• Provide access to licensed therapists, coaches, and peer mentors.

• Host monthly healing circles and group therapy sessions focused on trauma, loss, and growth.

• Encourage emotional intelligence, boundaries, and spiritual restoration.

🔹 Reentry & Rights Restoration Support

• Help returning citizens reintegrate into society through ID recovery, legal support, housing, and employment services.

• Offer educational programs around civic engagement, voting rights, and entrepreneurship.

• Partner with legal professionals to challenge unjust system barriers and assist with expungement when possible.

🔹 Youth Empowerment Initiatives

• Launch programs focused on at-risk youth, especially those aging out of foster care or living in shelters.

• Offer creative arts, sports, and financial literacy as tools for growth and prevention.

• Include mentoring, safe hangout zones, and weekend retreats.

Expansion Plans:

• Develop multi-use community centers that include housing, co-working space, training hubs, and child care.

• Create LASH Villages, offering long-term housing pods, wellness centers, and on-site schooling for families.

• Grow the Text-to-Donate and SMS Giving Campaigns through Twilio integrations to expand funding and support nationally.

Partnerships & Collaborations:

• Collaborate with churches, food banks, job placement agencies, veterans’ affairs offices, and local governments.

• Seek corporate and government contracts for meal service, janitorial services, and event staffing to fund mission programs.

• Train volunteers and partner organizations in trauma-informed care and wraparound service delivery.
