God of War

God of War is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. Released in 2018 for the PlayStation 4, it serves as a soft reboot for the franchise, shifting the focus from Greek to Norse mythology.

The game follows Kratos, the series’ protagonist, who has moved to the Norse realm of Midgard after the events of the previous games. He is accompanied by his young son, Atreus, as they embark on a journey to fulfill his deceased wife’s final wish to spread her ashes from the highest peak of the nine realms.

God of War’s gameplay features a third-person perspective with a more grounded and intimate combat system compared to its predecessors. The Leviathan Axe, Kratos’ primary weapon, can be thrown and summoned back, providing a satisfying mechanic for both combat and puzzle-solving.

The game also introduces RPG elements, allowing players to upgrade weapons, armor, and abilities. Atreus plays a significant role in combat and exploration, assisting Kratos with his bow and arrow and unique abilities.
